New Delhi: A 19-year-old youth who strangled his mother here and
dumped her body in the box of a bed has been arrested, police said Monday.
Sumitra, 50, was found dead Sunday afternoon at the first
floor of her house in Vikaspuri in west Delhi.
Sumitra's elder son, who resided on the ground floor,
found her body. As the victim's younger son Rohit who was residing with her was
missing, police went after him.
Rohit was arrested Sunday night from Subhash Nagar in
west Delhi. He confessed strangling his mother to death apparently to avenge
the frequent beatings he was subjected to.
