Srinagar: Under the election boycott
campaign of Huriyat Conference (G), senior pro-freedom leader Mohammad Ashraf
Sehraie addressed people in Lawaypora . According to the statement issued to
KNS, Huriyat general Secretary Ghulam Nabi Sumji in Rainipora, Mohammad Rafiq
Ganie in Turu, Mohammad Yousuf Mir in Pampora, Peer Saifullah in
Gooripora and Raja Mehraj-ud-din addressed gathering at Hyderpora.
The statement added that police arrested Huriyat
leader Abdul Ahad Parrah, Ghulam Mohammad Khan Sopori, Mohammad Maqbool Kondu
and Abdul Rasheed Bhat at Lasipora Pulwama when they were on their way to South
Kashmir to hold election boycott campaign.
While strongly condemning these arrests by the police,
Hurriyat said that as the dates of election drama is coming closer the police
is tightening its grip around the pro-freedom leadership and they are not
allowed to reach the public. “While terming the election drama which is going
to be held in Jammu and Kashmir as a military operation and on act of deceit,
Hurriyat General Secretary Gh. Nabi Sumji in his address said that although the
National Conference, PDP, State Congress and other pro-Indian parties are
asking votes for water, electricity and roads, but India is using these votes
as a political weapons for its forced occupation over Kashmir.” (KNS)
